Letter from the CEO
Happy summer everyone!
Humbly, I would like to brag a little bit in our summer eNewsletter. I feel very blessed and extremely happy as a proud grandpa of a beautiful and healthy
granddaughter! Kendall and Chris Ekerson introduced us to Stella Nicole Ekerson on May 15. Stella was born at 2:15 p.m. and she weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces and 20 inches long! Enjoy the photo of our bundle of joy and her proud parents!
I’d also like to congratulate Kendall for graduating in February – and just before giving birth – from FEI: Future Executives Institute. For the past three years, Kendall has been engaged in online coursework as well as traveling twice a year (once in the fall and in the spring during the International Roofing Expo) for about a week at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business in Chicago. In addition to that accomplishment, in March Kendall launched the Oregon chapter of the National Women in Roofing organization. In fact, the first meeting was held on July 27. Great work Kendall!
Now I want to brag about some standout employees who have earned Sammy Awards to date. Congratulations to Michelle Duvall, Allen Rogstad and Erin Warrick; all located at our Tualatin headquarters. To achieve this honor, recipients are nominated by their coworkers for showing at least one of the four Fish Philosophy practices. Thank you all for “Being Fishy!”
Speaking of our wonderful employees, I’m looking forward to our annual company picnic for our employees and their families on Aug. 26th at Snyder Park, located in Sherwood, OR. Let’s get ready to celebrate some special time together!
Long Beach Roofing is continuing to grow not only in size, but in sales. We are proud of our amazing team there in California that has generated about 10 percent growth in sales in the past three years. We are also pleased to announce we have relocated to a new and larger space, located at 1920 Obispo Ave., in Signal Hill. It is about 20 percent bigger than the previous facility and it has easier access to our customer base and the state highway system.
In fact, we are on pace to enjoy our best year in sales and production in the history of the company! I’m so excited to share this great news with you and your family.
Let’s all keep up the great work! Our professional family continues to grow and thrive, which keeps us all committed to building a strong family vision here at Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal and Long Beach Roofing.
As always, we are committed to our Core Values of Integrity, Relationships, Respects, Results and Safety for our team of dedicated employees and our valued customers in all our regions!
Sincerely,
Mark Carpenter
